Apple Tree - Drexel University - 2013

Director Bill Fennelly brought me in to design this show (my first musical!) at Drexel University.

The set design included three screens which acted as ultimately the backdrop for the given scene and offered a chance to do something stylistically with the three acts which differ greatly from one another.

Act I is the story of Adam and Eve. Using distinctive handwriting for both Adam and Eve, I attempted to enhance Adam's story arc.

With the below slides I tried to create a fairy tale feel with bright colors and unrealistic settings. Eden was by far my favorite gave the chance for some fun apple appearing magic.

Act II

Was much simpler in design. Bill went with a Texan Americana hyper patriotic vibe. With all of the action going on onstage, I kept my design minimal utilizing only three red, white, and blue flags which looped in a wave throughout Act II.

Act III

Act III was a Cinderella story straight out of Hollywood. Bill wanted the slides to have a pop art feel throughout. There were a lot of half tone textures used during this act.
